Our products

Product category: Case-hardening steel

Case hardening steels

As a rule, the case-hardening steels are used for the construction of mechanical parts for which high surface hardness and good core strength are required. They are structural steels intended for surface hardening obtained by case hardening and hardening. Case hardening is a heat treatment during which carbon is introduced into the steel through a diffusion process to obtain a hardened surface layer.

Product category: Other Steels

Steel for high speed mechanical processing

These are steels with very good machinability on machine tools. They are also called "free-cutting steels" and are intended for machining on automatic machines of large quantities of pieces, requiring in the first place excellent machinability or machinability that contributes to the reduction of production costs. There are two groups:

steels not intended for heat treatment
steels intended for heat treatment.

Quenched and tempered steels

The quenched and tempered steels are used for the construction of mechanical parts subjected to high static and dynamic loads and they are widely used in the mechanical industry: shafts of all types, rods, connecting rods, levers, etc. This group includes structural steels intended for heat treatment, i.e. massive hardening followed by appropriate tempering. In the hardened condition only, the steel shows high hardness with very low strength; therefore, the subsequent tempering is necessary to eliminate all stresses and brittleness. The quenching and tempering achieves the optimum compromise between strength and notch toughness.

Case-Hardening Steels

Case-hardening steels are usually used for the manufacture of mechanical parts for which a high surface hardness combined with a good core toughness is required.
They are structural steels intended for the surface hardening obtained by a case-hardening and a hardening treatment. Case-hardening is a heat treatment during which carbon is introduced in the steel by means of a diffusion process with the aim to obtain a hardened surface layer.

Product category: Bright steel

Steel for high speed machining

They are steels with an extremely high workability on tool-machines also called “free-cutting steels.”
They are designed to be machined on automatic machines for the production of a large quantity of pieces where in the first place an excellent workability or machinability is required enabling the reduction of production costs.
They can be divided into two main groups:

steels not destined to heat treatment
hardening and tempering steels.

Hardening and tempering steels

Hardening and tempering steels are used for the manufacture of mechanical pieces subjected to high static and dynamic loads and are widely used in the mechanical industry: shafts of any kind, rods, connecting rods, levers etc.
The types of structural steels intended for the hardening and tempering treatment belong to this group.
In the only hardened condition, the steel shows a high hardness with a very low toughness, therefore a subsequent tempering is necessary to eliminate all tensions and brittleness.
By hardening and tempering “the optimal” compromise between toughness and resilience can be achieved.
