Product category: Wire pay-off systems

Dry Drawing

The wire drawing process generates significant heat. This heat affects the lubricants’ ability to ensure quality wire production. The amount of generated heat is influenced by an interaction of factors that include the metal composition, surface preparation, and production equipment.

Some of the top features of this machine are the high degree of efficiency in cooling, as well as the perfect alignment of the wire between the capstan and the die-box.
The dry drawing machinery can be supplied with capstans fitted vertically or horizontally, and the latter can be either normal or tilted. The initial input diameter of the wire can be as large as 15mm, and the machinery can reduce wire down to 0,5mm, all this depending on the many different wire types or alloys that this line can handle.

All the dry drawing benches are manufactured using the most up-to-date technology to meet current industrial standards, which includes indipendently driven capstans, motorized and synchronized by means of a dancer or sensor arm, guaranteeing the highest quality in the process of wire reduction.

Mechanical Descaling

The rod itself has a considerable amount of surface calamine that will not only effect the final quality of the wire but also the life lasting of dies and lubricant.

Proper control and handling in these areas ensures quality and cost of the finished product and the design of these processes impacts the economics of the operation.

The “SCA” DESCALER has 2 sections both completely enclosed within one single housing. The first section removes scale using the reverse bending principle, winding the wire over 8 rolls, 4 on a vertical plane and 4 on a horizontal plane.
The second section utilizes rotating brushes to cleanse the wire of remaining rust particles on the surface.

Wet Drawing

The Gimax “TRS” range of non-slip wet drawing units with its independently driven vertical capstans combine most of the benefits of a dry drawing line with a wet one.
The result is an example of the most advanced technology available in wire drawing.
The “TRS” range is ideal for ferrous and non-ferrous wires. Its reduced footprint, easily accessible parts and components, not only offer cost savings in terms of floorspace and labour (operation and maintenance), but are an important aid in decreasing downtime and consequently increasing productivity.

High productivity and a better final wire quality coupled with features such as perfect alignment of wire between die and capstan as well as low energy consumption due to a “state of the art” electronic control of motor and line operation go to ensure one of the most advanced drawing solutions available on the market.
