Some components are simply too complex to be able to manufacture them with conventional methods. This is where 3D print comes into play, which in the meantime has become a common method in the case of plastic as a basic material. On the other hand with metals, there is still a touch of inventiveness to be perceived: For industrial applications, 3D printers, which can process metals, are becoming ever more interesting. For this reason, the voestalpine corporation opened a research centre for 3D printingof metal parts, completely according to the motto new dimensions in production.
