NEW YEAR, NEW CHALLENGES
As it has become clear in several areas, the beginning of this new year has been marked by a general increase in prices as a result of the rise in energy prices, the increase in logistics costs, the scarcity of raw materials, etc. Undoubtedly, this 2022 is expected to be a year full of new challenges that will put to a test our ability to react and adapt once again.
Despite all of this, at Manfisa we continue to grow and expand our production capacity in order to provide a better service to our customers, always keeping in mind our commitment to the environment.
In 2022, we plan to build a new warehouse of about 2000m2 with the aim of expanding our storage capacity. This will allow us to implement the FIFO system, which will be a further step towards IATF certification. Also, the welding division will expand its facilities by about 800m2. The roof of both buildings, like the rest of our facilities, will be covered with photovoltaic panels for self-consumption, which will mean an increase in our production power by about 350 kW/H.
We also plan to install a new drawing machine for special alloys with a capacity of 3,000 tons per year, which represents an increase of 15% over the current capacity. Likewise, we will continue to renew our fleet of forklifts, replacing those powered by diesel with electric forklifts, thus contributing to the reduction of fossil energy consumption.
Our accesses will also be renovated with the construction of a bypass that aims to reduce the circulation of heavy traffic through the center of Irurzun. Although this will involve changes and may alter the road traffic during the duration of the works, we hope that the result will be satisfactory both for the inhabitants of the town and for the users, suppliers and clients of the companies located in the area of Irurzun’s industrial estate.
Finally, after the cancellation of the Wire & Tube 2020 Fair in Düsseldorf due to the outbreak of the pandemic, this year it is scheduled to be held from June 20 to 24. Manfisa will have a stand (11B21), and we will be delighted to be able to meet in person with customers and suppliers again. We look forward to seeing you again!
