Suzuki Garphyttan AB

Suzuki Garphyttan is investing heavily in digitisation

Suzuki Garphyttan is undergoing an intensive process of change. It is about meeting the needs of an increasingly electrified automotive industry, but also of broadening its operations for new fields and industries. The company’s aim is to become an even more forward-looking, digital and sustainable steel player that can keep up with the needs of an ever-changing world.

“We are investing a lot of resources in digitising the company and we are currently making two major investments. We are implementing an ERP system that effectively amalgamates our global business processes and information flow between our sites. In parallel with this, we are working to connect our factories to gather more data from our machines,” says Niclas Nordqvist, Application Manager at Suzuki Garphyttan.
By automating parts of production and fitting existing machines with sensors, the company can work in a more data-driven way and refine its manufacturing process in line with new customer needs.
The state-of-the-art ERP system will help controlling flows within the supply chain. Suzuki Garphyttan’s goal is for the new business system to support the units and employees with well-founded data, improving control of everything from suppliers and production to quality and sales.
Suzuki Garphyttan is also encouraging the Digital Worker concept, which is about employees using digital tools to communicate with each other and to capture and analyse data from their machines.
