Draft application firmly anchors eastern German pipelines in the hydrogen core network

On November 15, 2023, the Federal Network Agency launched the public consultation on the draft application for the hydrogen core network submitted by the transmission system operators. The draft is extremely positive for the development of the hydrogen infrastructure in eastern Germany: The major hydrogen pipeline projects in eastern Germany are firmly anchored in the draft application.

Strategic cooperation: hydrogen in copper production

Aurubis AG has signed a letter of intent with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) for further cooperation. ADNOC had previously supplied ammonia for a series of tests at the Aurubis plant in Hamburg. The metal manufacturer investigated the use of ammonia for copper production.

Green hydrogen for paper production: paper mill enters into hydrogen cooperation

Papierfabrik Adolf Jass Schwarza GmbH, based in Thuringia, has entered into a "hydrogen partnership" with power plant operator TWS and FNB Ferngas. The aim is to gradually convert the combined heat and power plant in Rudolstadt-Schwarza to 100% hydrogen operation, with the resulting waste heat being used as process heat in paper production.
