Around a year after re-entering the international power plant market, Schoeller Werk GmbH & Co. KG is reporting positive results. The company has produced more than one million metres of stainless steel pipes and has either firmly planned or already delivered them for projects worldwide.
Global energy demand is rising rapidly, driven by industrialisation, digitalisation and the extensive expansion of energy-intensive infrastructure. Power plant operators are therefore investing in new construction, modernisation and efficiency improvements for their facilities. For these projects, Schoeller supplies pipe components for thermal power plant circuits, including high- and low-pressure preheaters, moisture separator reheaters (MSR) and condenser pipes, which are necessary for safe, efficient energy conversion.
‘We have implemented our return with great determination and re-established ourselves as a reliable partner within a very short time,’ explains Bernd Jansen, Head of Operational Sales, in a press release.
Number of large new construction and expansion projects growing
While maintenance and revitalisation projects have dominated recently, the number of large new construction and expansion projects is growing significantly – especially in North America, Asia and, increasingly, the Middle East. Schoeller is currently conducting an intensive review of the latter region with a view to strengthening its personnel and establishing new partnerships.
A key factor in this success is the strategic expansion of international partnerships. Schoeller is strengthening its global presence together with established distribution partners such as CNOOD Asia Limited (China), Haelim Trading (Korea) and Emerald Metals (USA). The company is also continuing to expand its network in India. From 2026 onwards, Schoeller experts will also travel regularly to the USA to advise customers on site, open up new market segments and intensify activities in North America in the long term.
‘The expansion of international cooperation is a central component of our strategy,’ emphasises CEO Alexander Mertens. "We want to make our technology visible worldwide and address markets where high quality and efficiency requirements apply. "
With its internationalisation offensive, Schoeller is strengthening both its market presence and its technological position in global power plant and pipeline construction. For the coming year, the company plans to continue on this course and focus even more strongly on innovative, economical and high-quality pipe solutions.
