Following a one-year construction period, the SIMONA Group officially opened its new plant in Jiangmen, southern China, in mid-October. The expansion of the site, which is accompanied by a doubling of production capacity, will make an important contribution to achieving the growth targets for the Asia-Pacific region.

"The new plant in Jiangmen impressively emphasises the importance of Asia for SIMONA's growth strategy and confirms our commitment to the region. The investment is a sign of our consistent focus and confidence in the Asian market", explained Shaobin Wang, CEO Asia-Pacific at SIMONA. "It also shows that flexibility with regard to our customers' expectations and needs is the key to success in this dynamic and highly competitive market", Wang continued.
The new building has increased the production area to a total of 20,000 square metres. This doubles the production capacity at the site. The new plant primarily produces thermoplastic pipes and solid rods for industrial applications. The production lines are characterised by a high degree of automation. In addition, energy consumption can be reduced and efficiency increased: Prototype plant, production, warehouse and logistics are all under one roof.
"Our Asia-Pacific team has once again achieved outstanding results and doubled capacity here at the site with the plant expansion within the planned timeframe, the specified budget and with above-average productivity", says Matthias Schönberg, CEO of the SIMONA Group. "With the new plant, we will expand our product portfolio, serve customer requirements even more individually and thus accelerate growth in the region."
