The transmission system operator TenneT Germany has appointed Ina Kamps to the management board with effect from December 1, 2025. This was announced by the company on July 8. As Chief Operating Officer (COO), she will be responsible for the operational business of TenneT Germany. TenneT cites grid expansion on land and at sea, maintenance and operation of the grid and safety as key areas of activity.
Together with Tim Meyerjürgens (CEO), Dr. Markus Binder (CFO) and Kathrin Günther (CTO), Kamps completes the management team. According to the company, the appointment takes place „as part of the organizational realignment of the TenneT Group”.
On 1 January 2025, TenneT was transformed into two independent national TSO organisations, TenneT Netherlands and TenneT Germany. Both work together as a group under the umbrella of TenneT Holding. The new appointment of central management functions at TenneT Germany is taking place in this context and, in addition to the new structure, is the basis „for the planned participation of further investors in TenneT Germany“.
Ina Kamps was most recently Head of Offshore Wind Germany at BP, where she was responsible for the group's offshore wind activities in Germany. She also has international experience in the energy sector and is active in associations such as the German Offshore Wind Energy Association (BWO). There she is committed to „the dialogue between industry and politics - for example on issues of grid connection, infrastructure planning and the implementation of decarbonisation targets“, as TenneT further informs.
„Milestone“ for TenneT
„I am delighted that with Ina Kamps we have been able to gain an internationally experienced expert with strong operational expertise for TenneT Germany“, said Manon van Beek, CEO of TenneT Holding and Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of TenneT Germany. „She will drive forward the secure operation and expansion of the grid and make a significant contribution to making the energy system fit for the future.“
Tim Meyerjürgens, CEO of TenneT Germany, added: „The management of TenneT Germany is now complete – an important milestone. Ina Kamps brings a clear view of the strategic priorities of the energy transition – especially in the expansion of the electricity grids on land and at sea. She knows offshore wind energy from many years of practical experience and has international expertise in the energy sector. Her strategic implementation strength and deep understanding of the industry make her the ideal candidate for TenneT Germany's core operational business.“
„Actively shaping the energy system of the future and resolutely driving it forward is what drives me. A powerful, integrated and reliable transmission grid is the basis for this and essential for a strong business location – in Germany and Europe“, explains Ina Kamps. „As COO of TenneT Germany, I am looking forward to working with a dedicated team, customers and the federal government to efficiently drive forward the expansion of the grid offshore and onshore and to take responsibility for secure grid operation. Thank you very much for the trust you have placed in me.“
