Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH (ILG), with support from the Salzgitter Group, is investing a mid-single-digit million euro sum in constructing a state-of-the-art training workshop and communication center. This facility will include a training workshop, spaces for internal workshops, online training sessions, customer events, and office spaces. Completion is planned for 2026.
The training workshop, including classrooms and seminar rooms, will offer young people excellent opportunities for professional development with forward-looking learning formats. ILG focuses on technical training programs, including professions such as industrial mechanics, electronics technicians for automation technology, and materials testers.
On November 11, the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony took place at the already prepared construction site.
Birgit Dietze, member of the Executive Board of Salzgitter AG, stated:
"We are making this investment despite the current challenging economic conditions. This demonstrates the importance we place on modern training and education within the Salzgitter Group."
Beatrice Fiege, ILG's Managing Director of Human Resources, added:
"With the construction of our new training and communication center, we are sending a clear signal about the future viability and attractiveness of the Ilsenburg site. The new building will not only provide an excellent learning environment for our trainees but will also serve as a venue for workshops and further training. This creates modern conditions for continuously enhancing the skills of our employees—a benefit for everyone involved."
