The alpex multilayer composite pipe system developed by FRÄNKISCHE for drinking water and heating installations has stood for safety, durability, maximum hygiene and easy installation for more than 25 years. With the new, flow-optimised elbows, the manufacturer is now redefining the proven system, enabling more efficient operation of heating and drinking water systems. This is accompanied by a change in the name to clearly emphasise the fundamental innovations.
The new elbow: more efficient system operation
At the heart of the new alpex system generation is the alpex elbow, which replaces the previous elbows and is manufactured using patented production technology. Its flow-optimised geometry reduces the zeta value (drag coefficient) by an average of 55% compared to standard elbows on the market, which reduces the total pressure loss of the installation in the system by up to 15%. The resulting flow optimisation enables noticeably more efficient operation of heating and drinking water systems. The pump pressure can be reduced, the hydraulic balancing for demand-optimised heating and drinking water distribution is optimally supported, and flow noises are reduced.
Compliant with REACH Regulation and EU Drinking Water Directive
To ensure that every installation complies with the EU Drinking Water Directive and REACH Regulation, high-quality materials are used for both the elbow and all other fittings. The high-performance plastic PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) and the lead-free, dezincification-resistant copper alloy silicon bronze (CuSi) in accordance with ISO 6509 guarantee hygienic and long-term stable operation of every heating and drinking water system.
Exceptional long-term temperature resistance
A unique feature of the alpex system from FRÄNKISCHE is the exceptional long-term temperature resistance of the multilayer composite pipes of 95 °C (at 10 bar). This value is made possible by an innovative combination of materials: an inner layer of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xb) ensures maximum hygiene and temperature resistance inside the pipe. A butt-welded aluminium core ensures the necessary dimensional stability as well as absolute oxygen tightness and pressure resistance. The new multilayer composite pipe system from FRÄNKISCHE is now available from all standard sources.
