On 1 July 2024, Dr. Thomas Becker will succeed Jörg Kamphaus as Commercial Managing Director of Thyssengas GmbH. Kamphaus, who has held various management positions at Thyssengas since 2004, will hand over his responsibilities in the middle of the year to Dr. Thomas Becker, who is currently Managing Director of Trading Hub Europe GmbH.
"Jörg Kamphaus has informed the Supervisory Board that he does not wish to extend his contract beyond June 2024 for personal reasons. We expressly regret this decision. In 20 years at Thyssengas, Jörg Kamphaus has made a significant contribution to establishing Thyssengas as one of the leading long-distance gas network operators in Germany and setting the key course for a successful transition to hydrogen transportation. On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I would like to thank Mr. Kamphaus for his great achievements and wish him all the best for the future," said Hilko Schomerus, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Thyssengas GmbH.
The Supervisory Board has appointed Dr. Thomas Becker as Jörg Kamphaus' successor. Becker has been working in the energy industry since 1996 and knows Thyssengas well. After various management positions in the RWE Group, he first joined Thyssengas in 2004. His last position there was as an authorized signatory with responsibility for corporate development, among other things. In 2015, the doctor of business administration moved to NetConnect Germany (NCG) as Commercial Managing Director. Since June 2021, Becker has been Chief Financial Officer and a member of the management board of the newly founded Trading Hub Europe (THE). "Dr. Thomas Becker has been closely involved with Thyssengas in recent years through his role at NCG and THE as market area manager in the German gas market. We are delighted to have gained an expert with many years of experience in managing companies in the regulated energy supply sector," said Schomerus.
From 1 July 2024, the future Thyssengas Management Board will therefore consist of Dr. Thomas Gößmann, Chairman of the Management Board, and Dr. Thomas Becker, Commercial Managing Director.
