ArcelorMittal Vega has inaugurated the expanded Vega Unit in São Francisco do Sul, marking a historic milestone for the company. The event brought together authorities, customers, and key figures from the metals industry to celebrate this achievement.
This expansion is one of ArcelorMittal's largest projects in Brazil and underscores the company's commitment to quality, innovation, and safety. With SMS group providing key equipment and technology—including a new annealing and galvanizing line as well as an additional rolling mill stand—the project significantly increases Vega's capacity to produce high-strength steel. The new CAL/CGL, with a capacity of 640,000 tons per year, processes a wide range of steel strips for the automotive and household appliance industries, strengthening ArcelorMittal's leadership in advanced steel solutions.
