At ANGA COM 2024, the Garmisch-Partenkirchen-based company Langmatz, a specialist in the expansion of future-proof FTTX fibre optic and FTTA-5G networks, will be presenting a new fibre management system that is designed to significantly simplify the installation and handling of fibres in fibre optic network distributors and termination points.

According to the manufacturer, all components of the new „Langmatz Fibre Management System 3.0 (LFMS 3.0)“ that are relevant for fibre optic cable distribution were developed in-house – from the mounting plate to the splice cassettes. According to the company, fibre guidance, bending radii and threading have been significantly optimised. The hinge channel between the newly developed cassettes and organisers has been enlarged to allow a higher fibre density to be fed in and out. To prevent fibres from jumping out unintentionally, the hinge channels close automatically when the cassettes are locked.

„Our research and development department has taken a close look at all aspects of fibre management and developed innovative solutions that not only simplify the time-consuming assembly and storage of the glass fibres, but also make them faster and more efficient“, says Head of Marketing Dieter Klasmeier, explaining the benefits. All components developed in-house were made from recycled plastic at the company's own factory in Oberau.

According to Langmatz, the new fibre management system features numerous optimisations designed to facilitate fibre guidance, protection, organisation and accessibility of the glass fibres:

- Mounting plate 3.0: A screwless plug-in system that enables flexible positioning of the access cable interception in the door as well as easier and faster replacement of components.

- Micro cable sorting 3.0: Adapter plates are no longer necessary and an overall larger diameter range of micro cables can be used (grey: 16 x ø 1.2mm - 2.5mm; blue: 12 x ø 2.3mm - 4.6mm)

- Head piece 3.0: The insertion area for the fibres has been widened to 2 x 105mm per head piece. The stripping area is also marked in the new version.

- Access cable support 3.0: 7 HV cables ≤ ø 6.5mm or alternatively 4 HV cables with ø 10.5mm (or 4 corrugated conduits up to ø 13.5mm) can be attached to the access cable support in the door. It includes a plug-in system, integrated strain relief brackets and has a bending radius of R45.

- Organiser & Fibre Bridge 3.0: An organiser offers 18 cassette locking positions where the risk of fibre breakage has been significantly reduced as there are hardly any gaps, gaps, edges or slits in which fibres could get caught. The single fibre bridge has a convenient plug-in system without screws.

- Cassettes & organisers: Cassettes and organisers have been specially developed by Langmatz and, like all other components, are produced in-house. The cassettes have a patented positioning system that can be securely locked in three positions to ensure quick and easy assembly. An integrated holder enables the mounting of one splitter (up to 1:32) in the 5mm cassette. Another advantage: The bluish colouring of the cassettes and organisers provides a high colour contrast, especially to grey/white fibres, without losing the contrast to blue/light blue fibres.

- Bonnet 3.0: The Gf-NVt in the „Large“ version also has a protective bonnet that can be hung on the door to protect it from the sun and rain and to keep it safe during assembly.

In future, the fibre management system will be used in the housings of the company's own fibre optic network distributor series under the product name Gf-NVt 3.0 in five different sizes and in two variants of the fibre optic termination points.
