ABB has announced the acquisition of the Födisch Group, a provider of measurement and analysis technology for the energy and industrial sectors. The acquisition of the Födisch Group strengthens ABB's capabilities in the key areas of environmental technology and process control. Financial details of the transaction, which is expected to be finalised by the end of the year, were not disclosed.
Measurement technology from Markranstädt
Based in Markranstädt, Germany, the Födisch Group operates a 3,000 square metre production facility and has further sites in Germany, the Netherlands and China. The company specialises in monitoring pollutant emissions and addresses environmental, testing and certification challenges in power plants, waste incineration plants and the paper, glass and cement industries. In 2023, the group generated a turnover of around 50 million euros with around 250 employees.

Expansion of the product portfolio
The acquisition expands ABB's offering with additional continuous gas analysers and dust and particle measurement devices, complementing the existing portfolio of measurement and analysis technologies. Measuring and analysing technologies are key to improving the sustainability of industrial operations. They enable reliable process measurements and provide real-time data and insights that help to improve efficiency and reduce emissions. Through ABB's global sales and service network, customers worldwide can benefit from the expanded solutions to address global energy efficiency and sustainability challenges.
