For more than 95 years, Magnetic Analysis Corporation (MAC®) has partnered with wire, tube, bar, pipe, and parts producers worldwide to design nondestructive testing (NDT) solutions tailored to real production environments. That customer-first philosophy is what brings MAC® to Wire 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany, and why we invite attendees to visit us at Hall 15, Stand E39 for conversations focused on their specific inspection requirements. “Supporting wire, tube, rod, and parts producers has always been fundamental to MAC’s business,” said Dan Lawrence, CEO and President of MAC®. “By exhibiting at Wire 2026, we’re bringing greater visibility to that long history and engaging more directly with wire customers to streamline their inspection process.”
At the MAC booth, attendees can expect hands-on demonstrations of the Minimac® II eddy current (ECT) electronic, direct access to application engineers, and practical discussions centered on improving quality, yield, and confidence in production. Designed for wire, rod, and small-diameter tube, the fully embedded Minimac® II electronics are widely used across wire applications, including solid and flux-cored welding wire, continuity checking, weld detection in insulated single and multi-conductor cable, and detection of magnetic inclusions in non-magnetic products using MAC’s MID option. During Wire 2026, the Minimac® II will be demonstrated, testing a wire standard similar in diameter for medical wire, live at production relevant speeds of up to 1,219 meters per minute, showcasing its ability to reliably detect short surface and near-surface defects.
A key reason to visit MAC at Wire 2026 is access to in person expertise. Whether determining when to use an encircling coil versus an eddy current rotary, or when a multi-test system is required, MAC’s team is prepared to discuss options and even conceptually design custom solutions directly at the booth. Senior Application Engineer Troy Libby will be onsite throughout the show, bringing more than 25 years of experience in eddy current technology, including the design of inspection systems, test coils, and probes for some of the industry’s most demanding applications. From high-speed round wire to complex profiles, MAC engineers work one-on-one with customers to meet stringent specifications and production realities.
Whether using EDM notches, chemically etched defects, or actual production flaws, MAC’s team administers calibrations, Factory Acceptance Testing, and ongoing support through a global network of NDT engineers to ensure reliable system performance in real-world conditions. Even when customers arrive without standards, often due to urgent quality concerns, MAC provides transparent testing, clear reporting, and guidance on next steps. This collaborative, open approach is central to how MAC builds long term partnerships.
Beyond eddy current testing, MAC’s broader portfolio, including ultrasonic testing (both conventional and phased array) and magnetic flux leakage systems, allows our team to discuss complete custom inspection strategies for product producers at every scale. At Wire 2026, our goal is simple: listen first, understand your process, and help identify the right inspection solution to meet, and exceed, your quality requirements.
