The United States International Trade Commission recently decided to impose anti-dumping duties on imports of prestressed concrete steel rail tie wire from Mexico and China. The US Department of Commerce determined that Mexico and China were selling the product in the US at "less than fair value."
The duty on imports from Mexico will be 9.99 percent, while the rate for imports from China will be between 31.4 percent and 35.3 percent. Prestressed concrete steel rail tie wire is a high carbon steel wire specifically designed to be used in the construction of railroad ties.
The complaint was filed by Insteel Wire Products Co, a division of Insteel Industries, and Davis Wire Corp.
