The Wire Association International (WAI), Inc. announces the appointment of William F. Reichert as president of the association for a one-year term that commenced on January 1, 2015. Reichert will serve as chairman of the Board of Directors and as the 61st old association, which is headquartered in Madison, Connecticut, USA.

A WAI member since 1996, Reichert has been actively involved in the organization’s leadership having served as a member of its board of directors, finance committee, and on several conference committees. “When I think of WAI it is about the people who are committed to advancements in our industry. That engagement is evident at the Association’s events where industry news is shared in the valuable networking process. Participation and involvement in the Association provides growth for the individual member and positive results for our industry,” said Reichert.

Reichert is the Chief Operating Officer for Champlain Cable Corporation in Colchester, Vermont, USA. His experience in manufacturing industries spans 32 years, 30 of which have been in the wire and cable industry in various operations, engineering, sales and marketing roles. He has spent the past 11 years with Champlain Cable, where he is responsible for facilities in Colchester, Vermont; El Paso, Texas; and Leeds, Massachusetts.

He holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry (1983) and MBA degree (1993) both from the University of Vermont, where his has recently instructed Production and Operation Management in the university’s MBA program. He has presented technical and management papers at WAI’s conferences, as well as at the Wire & Cable FOCUS (of which he is a founding advisor) and International Wire & Cable Symposium (IWCS) conferences. He is also a member of the Wire and Cable Manufacturer’s Alliance (WCMA).
