The HARTING RJ Industrial® EtherRail® RJ45 connector is the first RJ45 connector for field assembly available on the market for the connection of data cables employed in fire protection with a wire diameter of up to 2mm. The connector is designed for cable diameters up to 9mm and is therefore optimal for the connection of Ha-VIS EtherRail® cable with screened star quad design.
The new HARTING RJ Industrial® EtherRail® connector is a 4 pole RJ45 connector equipped with insulation displacement technology. The unique special characteristic of this variant is the possibility of connecting wires with an external diameter of up to 2mm. This makes this RJ45 connector ideal for the 4 core Ha-VIS EtherRail® data cable.
Besides the EtherRail® 4xAWG22/7 cable for laying in and on rail vehicles and buses, the ultra-flexible 4xAWG22/19 cable can be connected. This cable is mainly used as a linking connection between the wagons, while also finding use for installations within rail vehicles and buses thanks to its great flexibility.
The Ha-VIS EtherRail® cables fulfill the fire protection regulations for rail vehicles and buses and are suitable for scenarios involving extreme temperature requirements of -40°C to +85°C.
Cable design and construction, the materials used and processing (irradiation crosslinking) meet the requirements of the EN 45545 European standard for rail applications and additionally fulfill comprehensive fire tests in accordance with DIN5510, UL1685, as well as many other national and international requirements.
The robust star quad design guarantees reliable data transfer up to 100 MBit/s. In connection with the new HARTING RJ Industrial® EtherRail® RJ45 connector, it is now possible to implement mechanically highly robust RJ45 data cabling in trains, trams and buses.
