FNsteel supplies High Carbon Steels for baling wires, ropes, bead wires, bedding and seating, cable reinforcing, springs, washers, clips and hardened nails, among others, as well as for concrete reinforcing wires and strands. As a manufacturer also of finished PC strands, our profound product expertise is guaranteed.
Both AI- and Si-killed grades are produced. AI-killed grades can be titanium treated to achieve better product performance. Chromium and vanadium (micro) alloying can also be applied.
HC wire rods are rolled both for pickling and mechanical descaling. The diameter range is normally 5.5 to 15.0 mm, but up to 30.0 mm are available on request.
Optimal properties for cold drawing and further processing are ensured by controlled rolling and cooling. This gives a homogeneous structure and technically uniform mechanical properties, as well as surface quality and close dimensional tolerances.
In these products our iron ore based metallurgy provides the customer with an essential advantage in terms of chemical purity.
Our High Carbon Steels fully meet current international standards. The majority of grades are tailored to customer specifications.
The Dalsbruk Rod Mill uses an endless rolling system (FlexCoil) in which consecutive billets are joined together at rolling temperature. The entire charge can be rolled continuously without individual billet ends. At the end of the line, coils are then cut to customer specifications.

FNsteel supplies Wire Rod and Wire in Spring Steels for the manufacturing of a wide range of springs. AII of our products meet current international standards, but can also be tailored to our clients' specifications.
The Spring Steel can be produced from continuous cast billets from pure iron ore and selected steel scrap under controlled conditions, which ensures low residuals, uniform chemical composition and clean steel.
Our Spring Steels can also be produced through the ingot route. The steel (ingot) is made from selected scrap melted in an electric arc furnace after which alloying takes place in a separate ladle furnace with vacuum degassing.
Our wire rod and drawn wire can also be supplied with an annealed structure for enhanced process ability.

FNsteel supplies Welding Wire Rods for the manufacturing of MIG/MAG (gas-shielded metal arc) welding wires, welding electrodes and submerged arc welding wires.
Most of the electrode and submerged welding grades require low metallic and non-metallic residuals, which is best made from iron ore based steel, continuous casted. Wire rods for low and medium alloyed special welding consumables are produced from ingot scrap based material.
In MIG/MAG and in the majority of electrode wire rods, our Wire's metallurgy is based on iron ore pellets, providing the customer with an essential advantage in terms of chemical purity and direct draw ability.
In addition to general surface quality specifications, the surface index, i.e. the sum of all surface imperfections around the rod sphere, is limited to 10 % of the MIG/MAG wire rod diameter, which guarantees good surface appearance in the finished product.
Wire rods are delivered both for pickling and mechanical descaling. The scale amount can vary between 0.4 to 0.8 wt %. The most popular diameter is 5.5 mm, although larger diameters are also available upon request.
Our Wire's Welding Steels meet current international standards and many grades are also tailor-made to customer specifications.
The Dalsbruk Rod Mill uses an endless rolling system (FlexCoil) in which consecutive billets are joined together at rolling temperature. The entire charge can be rolled continuously without individual
billet ends. At the end of the line, coils are then cut to customer specifications.

FNsteel supplies Wire Rod in Special Mild Steels with excellent formability. Our Mild Steels are available in semi-killed, AI-killed and boron treated grades. Beneficial and consistent mechanical properties are achieved by the close control of alloying elements, low residuals and precise control of rolling and cooling.
Semi-killed rimming substitute grades are typically used for drawing to final sizes down to 0.6-0.5 mm without annealing and to 0.2-0.1 mm when annealed for the production of a wide range of fine products such as sieves, filters, mesh, rivets and fastenings and other fine consumer goods. Our iron ore based metallurgy provides the customer with an essential advantage in terms of chemical purity and low deformation hardening.
Wire rods are rolled both for pickling and for mechanical descaling. The scale amount can be adjusted between 0.4 to 0.8 wt %. The most popular diameter is 5.5 mm, although special mild steels can be rolled up to 30.0 mm.
The softest Special Mild Steels are treated with boron for large and uniform grain size and high cold deformation performance. AI-killed Special Mild Steel variants can also be delivered for most demanding applications.
Our special mild steels fully meet current international standards. Many grades are tailored to customer specifications. Several of the basic steel types are listed with the closest grades according to EN 10016-2,3 or 4.
The Dalsbruk Rod Mill uses an endless rolling system (FlexCoil) in which consecutive billets are joined together at rolling temperature. The entire charge can be rolled continuously without individual billet ends. At the end of the line, coils are then cut to customer specifications.

FNsteel supplies Wire Rod and Wire in Cold Heading and Cold Extrusion steels for the manufacturing of a wide range of connecting elements and fasteners. AII of our products meet current international standards, and can also be tailored to our clients' specifications.
The material for both non-heat treated and heat treated applications (up to class 12.9) can be supplied untreated as well as annealed and / or surface coated. Thermo-mechanical rolling can be applied for optimizing the structure in order to achieve improved formability properties.
Cold Heading and Cold Extrusion Steels from FNsteel are mainly produced from pure iron ore and selected steel scrap under controlled conditions, which ensures low content of residuals, uniform chemical composition and clean steel. Controlled rolling and cooling ensure optimal properties including homogeneous structure, uniform mechanical properties as well as good surface quality and close dimensional tolerances for our customer's demanding applications.
Alloyed Wire Rods for special applications can be supplied from ingot cast steel. The steel (ingot) is made from selected scrap melted in an electric arc furnace, after which alloying takes place in a separate ladle furnace with vacuum degassing.
